Tom Tom Go on Lease

We've just had a van driver in and he had a tom tom go 700 so I picked his brains about how good he thought it was particulary on the phone option etc, and how much he'd paid for it. He then said he hadn't bought it but they all had them leased from someone like PC world for £2 a week or something pathetic, In view that technology changes so quickly and I normally only have things like handsfree kits and speed camera gps for a couple of years before I upgrade, this didn't seem like a bad idea to me. Anyone heard of it before or know who does it?
