Are they still a thing in the UK? I used to have a Snooper a long time ago.

I had 2 Valentine One Gen1s in my cars in Australia, but they are now illegal in every state.

So I want to sell them, but eBay keep removing the adverts.

Anyone know where I could advertise for the UK?

A very long time ago when I had such things, they were legal to buy and fit, but not actually use for their intended purpose. I did find them susceptible to some traffic lights and supermarket automatic doors though. I am now old and respectable and have a Mazda SUV, which has front parking sensors, which go off at some traffic lights. Ain't progress great ?

Were you advertising on eBay.au (or whatever the Aussie version is)?

Could be worth signing up to eBay.com or eBay.co.uk, although you'd need to research which frequencies your detector(s) will detect and whether they are used elsewhere, therefore where you could/should advertise.

After speaking to eBay, they changed the policy in May to ban them, as one state in Australia may have made them illegal to buy.

They keep pulling my ads, but leaving the whole "radar detector" category full of 1000s of adverts.

Bugger.

Have to find somewhere else. As Gumtree and FB are pretty local.

My Porsche Cayenne came new with a dealer installed detector. I mention the make because Porsche owners in the UK know if they do a none N rated fart it invalidates the warranty. Whereas, in the US the dealer hardwired a detector/jammer for about $3k

They did a great job. There’s 2 blue LEDs in a front air vent to indicate front or back and a remote. Very discreet. Also, worthless today and for many years. Pings and dings constantly due to everything triggering it. Whenever a Subaru came near me it would go mental because of their emergency braking system.

I haven’t used it for over 5 years. I only thought of it recently when driving through a state where they are illegal.

I just use waze.

I used to have issues with the automatic doors of petrol stations, and the blind spot detection on other cars.

Used to switch the Ka stuff off in the city, and then back on in the country. Having the mute button for individual pins was helpful for sanity.

Worked really well, and saved me quite often, up till a few years back when my state banned them. They don't have detector detectors here, but the fines are massive if you get caught with one at a RBT check (for example).

Waze and similar apps are not great here, as the places where you want to push on and can due to lack of traffic, are usually in mobile reception blackspots.
