This looks an interesting system, does anyone know if it is as good as it appears?

ive ha mine for about a weeknow and like it very much.

The database is the same for the speedtraps and identifies them all as one would expect. Its very small and compact.

the navigatio part is very good- all touch screen- by postcode or address and it seemd very accurate.

I seem t o have a problem with the unit freezing after about 2 hours use so will report when ive tried it some more!

Am I right in thinking that the only maps offered will be country specific (no available maps of Europe for example and that the laser detector has been dropped?

It appears that you get UK maps as standard and the rest of Europe on an SD card for £200. It certainly appears the laser has been dropped. Shame, would have been perfect otherwise.

The laser addition would have made it highly illegal in Europe.

It's also completely useless as by the time it goes off you have been zapped.

I donwloaded the User Guide and it says

"Using ROAD ANGEL Navigator Abroad

Your ROAD ANGEL Navigator is specifically designed for use within its
designated country, as stated on the packaging. It will have limited
functionality in other countries because the appropriate map and
camera/safety GPS data will not be present.
If you intend to use ROAD ANGEL Navigator abroad, seek independent
legal advice prior to departure."

I can't find any mention of maps for other countries on the Blackspot web site.

I'm puzzled.
