I’ve got a Sony Headunit installed in my Volvo V70. It’s had one of the foil windscreen mounted aerials fitted and has worked really well, but…. I really don’t like the aesthetic.

Has anyone got a tidy alternative solution?

There are loads of aerial splitters around which could mean I get rid of a screen mount aerial entirely, but they don’t seems to be compatible with amplified aerials.

Are there any windscreen aerials that are less intrusive without sacrificing reception quality?

Thanks

Have you considered a small roof aerial? You wouldn't see it whilst driving and you'd get much better reception.

Not an option for my OCD either I’m afraid. It’s not that I can see the current aerial when I’m driving that’s the problem, it’s the general appearance outside the car.

If you don’t have other aerials or an alarm trigger wire can you put it in one of the fixed rear windows? Does mean running a cable though.

Does your car already have an external AM/FM aerial or is it built into the rear screen?

If the latter can't you buy a shark fin DAB antenna and mount it to the rear of the roof (so it looks like a GPS antenna)
