No Satellites Found
Discussion
Generic question, because the car is a 2001 Mercedes CLK, so I'm not expecting Comand 2.0 expertise.
About two months ago, the satnav lost sight of any satellites, and now, no matter where I go, or how long I drive for, it won't refind them. It was fine up until that loss earlier this year.
Is there anything I can try to get it to reconnect?
Obviously I don't need a 20 year old satnav for actual navigation, but it's nice to be able to to see the map tracking my journey.

My 2010 Lotus used to do that (the ICE/sat-nav was antiquated/rubbish even when new) every few months, and only removing the fuse for the head unit for 10 minutes or so used to reset it and it started working again. No idea why and it has actually been fine for the past few years (now I have jinxed it of course )

I'll try that. Thanks.davejf said:
I had the same issue in my 2006 Z4. I found the GPS antenna had broken, sourced a replacement on eBay for £10-15 and been working again ever since. Similar vintage of car so probably very similar setup.
It's possible, but the fuse thing is easier and cheaper as a first option. Doofus said:

Hopefully it is easier to get at than on my Evora which meant removing a large panel in the passenger footwell that was always a bd to refit, in typical Lotus style. I seriously considered working out how to bypass the fuse and fit another inline fuse and switch somewhere accessible when it happened more frequently s2kjock said:
