Car Audio Forums/Experts - or just try to help!!
Discussion
Does anybody know of any car audio forums to join for some technical help ?
Or - I have just got an Audi A4 convertible - on the way home I enjoyed listening to the radio and playing with all the scanning tools and presets (my previous TT had the radio aeriel buggered by the previous owner so I never had the radio option!).
3/4 days later the radio stopped working
Now it has the aeriel in the boot lid (as it's plastic) with a booster/amp thing.
The aeriel lead can apparently break where the boot opens/shuts but I tried to look and unravel the wires but nothing obvious. But it can break within the cable so not obvious.
Somebody told me if I take the aeriel coaxial lead out and stick a wire in it, if the reception improves - which it did - means the aeriel lead is ok. The booster/amp must be knackered.
What can I do to prove what's broken ?
The booster/amps are rare to find on eBay and expensive so don't want to take the risk just trying one. And ones available are in Germany/Spain.
Picture of booster/amp thing - there's two of these
