Wireless CarPlay widgets

Hi folks,

Would really like CarPlay on my 09 E class. Ive seen a number of ads on social media for wireless units.

They seem very cheap. Any experiences of them…decent or avoid?

I have the one from amazon tried and tested carlnkit, 3.0 thing which about about £78 on offer but they are range from 75-110 quid.

I've used Carplay2air and also Carlinkit. My name isn't John.

Carplay2air was very stable on my 65 plate e class and 18 GLS - worked perfectly 99% of the time, only very occasionally it didn't boot so I had to pull the usb and reconnect. Then it was fine.

Only switched to Carlinkit as I started using an android head unit in my GLS. The app for that freezes occasionally - but that may be the head unit rather than the dongle.

Both are much better than wired in my view, particularly if you rig up a wireless charging pad. I have hacked one together that merges a brodit mount with a magsafe attachment from Amazon. Holds an iPhone Pro fine!
