I'm struggling to find a nut I can loosen to attach the ground for my dashcam.

I've removed a panel, which has revealed metal, which I used for my voltage tester, so I know it's good to ground to.

Using the voltage tester made me think maybe using a crocodile clip would work? Is this a sensible idea? what would happen if the clip came loose/off? Would the camera just power off or blow a fuse?

If not a good idea is it possible to use another fuse tap in a spare fuse slot (I have already found one) just to tap into the negative side and run the ground to that?

This

Small HSS drill bit, corresponding sized nut, bolt and washer. Wrap the wire beneath the washer, in contact with the metal frame.

You can even get flashy and crimp or solder a fork / spade connector to the earth wire....
