Dash cam - just camera with RCA/3.5mm plug, no recorder

I'm likely to put an Andream system in my BMW. among other features, it has inputs for Reverse camera and DVR. I don't know how the DVR function works yet, I suspect you stick a memory card in but I'm trying to find that out. From memory (I had this system in a previous car), the loom has an input for an RCA cable for a camera for the DVR function and another for reverse camera.

Now reverse cameras are easy to come by if I want one but I'm more interested in having an interior dash cam mounted in front of the mirror. I've never been a fan of the typical dashcam lumps with screen showing etc but I do like the idea of something more or less invisible recording on loop in the background.

Anyway, all of the camera I can find seem to be more like reversing/external cameras. Is that actually what I need or are there specific dash cam type options with appropriate viewing angles and lens coatings for looking through a windscreen?
