Hello, I have a Citroen Relay van (65 plate) that I am supposed to be converting into a Campervan. I bought some seats from a Disco 5 HSE as the bolt pattern allows them to bolt straight in according to the conversion forums. What I didn’t realise is that they wire back to an ECU for the seat, and presumably then to CANBUS.

The switches apparently don’t work without CANBUS even if wired. The work around seems to be to replace all the switches but then the panel looks a bit naff in comparison to the JLR panel.

Question is if I wire the seats to a JLR seat ECU can the ECU be powered directly or would that need to be programmed into the van ECU (which probably wouldn’t talk to it) please? Does anyone have any experience with this please?

Thanks

Stuart

Hard to say. Depends on whether the seat control modules are interconnected to other modules or not.

If for example, it gets/transmits signal from/to another module, it may detect a fault and may stop functioning. Unless someone has given a try, I would say its hard to confirm.
