Golf MK7 CD player won’t load

I have a 2016 VW Golf MK7 with a single CD player in the glovebox. I went to load a CD (I know….so old school) today but there was another CD still in there, probably several months. It ejected no problem, but when I went to load the other CD the payer wouldn’t pull it in and load it. I tried several times and different CD’s but no luck. I could push it almost in but it never pulled it in. It did always eject the partially loaded CD.
Any ideas on if it’s fixable?

The old slap the unit seems to have done the trick.

Lol that tickled me. 9 years I've had mine since new and never even loaded a CD!
