Following from the thread on overtaking, it was being overtaken (pun intended) by posts on dash cams.

Rather intrigued to see what camera everyone has fitted to their car, and what they think of it.

I have an A129 Plus Duo tucked behind the rear view mirror, rear camera stuck to the rear window near the centre brake light. Very discreet and never had any issues with it. Excellent quality on the front being 1440p, rear is adequate at 1080p.

Other cars we have are fitted with A119 V3 up front, no rear facing cam. 1440p on these, and again quality is great.

I've got a "carsafe" one, it's OK but it's not great. I post sometimes in "spotted" threads and it's just about good enough for that. On reflection I wish I'd spent a bit more and got a proper one, but I like to support smaller manufacturers if their products are any use. The first one that came wasn't 1080P when it should have been, and it took ages to sort it out. Then I downloaded the app and it wants access to my contacts and to send text messages, for no apparent reason. So unless they've improved them a lot in 3-odd years since I bought it, I wouldn't buy another.

I've been thinking about getting a discreet one for a little while now. Something I can easily remove, no faffing with wires etc. So I'm following with interest.

(following);

I'm looking for front and rear for my new CX-5 (when it arrives). Ideally 4K up front and probably 1080 at the rear.

There's such an enormous range and non appear to stand out. A lot of the 2K ones also offer 1080p at 60FPS - would love to hear peoples opinions on 2K 30fps -vs- 1080 60fps.

I've got a Blackvue DR750 2 channel - it's pretty decent, but has been superseded by newer, higher resolution models. I'd be happy to replace with another Blackvue when the time comes.

+1
Although preferably something I can wire in and forget about.

I have 2 Nextbase cameras but wouldn't have another given.

I had a problem with one powering off and a call to Nextbase resulted in them refusing to speak to me until I had bought one of their branded memory cards.

The problem was a battery failure, not the card. I replaced the battery myself and I've not had a problem since. Apparently, if parking mode is on, the power cable doesn't power the camera, it only charges the battery which powers the camera. Parking mode is now turned off.

I would probably get a Viofo next time.
