Afternoon all

Whilst poking around under the dash of my Japanese import Range Classic 1990 I have discovered two of these connected up.

Anyone know what they are?

Those liver braided cables are also weird, not connected and run to somewhere under the car. Need to fully trace them.

Many thanks

A quick Google suggests a catalytic converter overheat sensor and light.

Has the car ever been in Japan?

Edit: oh yeah, you said it had. The overheat indication is mandatory in Japan.

Thanks all. No it doesn’t but maybe it enjoyed a more vicarious life in Tokyo ;-)

Those braided wires do lead underneath. However there are no led bars or even tubes present on the underside and the ends of the braided wires do not connect to those boxes. May unplug them and see if she still starts.

Weird for a proper old fashioned Range Rover Classic 3.9 V8!

Looks like it may be to control a catalytic converter over temperature warning light.
