Head unit advice
Discussion
Gents, Im in the process of replacing a Kenwood DDX 5022 with another head unit and am a bit stuck!
The Kenwood was attached to an amp with the front h/u preouts connected to ch 1 and 2 on an amp (driving front left and right speakers) and the rear h/u preouts connected to Ch 3 and 4 on the amp to drive the subwoofer (the rear preouts were assigned to 'sub' on the Kenwood h/u)
With this other h/u, I have 2x front preouts, 2x rear preouts and a single RCA marked 'Sub'.
Do I need to leave the rear Preouts disconnected on the new h/u and connect the 2 x RCAs (att to ch 3 and 4 on the amp) to the singl;e Sub RCA? I'm guessing if I connect it to the rear RCA preoutss, it wont get the subwoofer recognition / functionality in the new head unit?
Any guidance is appeciated!

Yes, you'll probably need to fit a y-splitter to the RCAs. If it was a fresh install, I'd fit it at the amp end and only run one lead from the HU, but if you've got the 2 there already, might as well go the other way around and fit it at the HU end.
It is possible that your amp could take the feed from just one channel for the sub input (as the HU should have summed the left and right into the one output already), so worth checking the instructions and you might save a few quid.
