My 'old' Kenwood DDX5022 double din head unit is starting to look a little dated now and was thinking of replacing with an Android 10.1" head unit. I have however, heard conflicting reports. I am aware that some brands are supposed to be better than others ( Atoto, Pumkin and (arguably) Xtrons) but have never actually heard one in the ‘flesh’. As I’m looking at throwing about £350 max at it, can anyone advise on quality / recommend any particular unit? I’m not looking for audiophile levels of performance here but would like similar to what I currently have which I am more than happy with.

I've had a Pumpkin in a Mondeo for about 3 years now. It also has a reversing camera hooked up.

It's been 100% rock solid for me which kind of surprised me. GPS works flawlessly. The radio reception is pretty hopeless though and that's with a dedicated aerial rather than sticker in the windscreen.

I don't have much to judge the sound against, but it keeps me satisfied.

One thing I haven't bothered to do, or actively prevented, is any kind of updating. Google assistant and maps still works fine through it.

All I use it for is navigation, playing music files and asking the occasional question.

I have an 'A Sure' one in my E Class and it's great, full wireless android auto and carplay for about 200 quid, better than the twice the price pioneer in the wife's car.
