Hello all.

I'm having an issue with my wife's car, it's a 1.6 diesel c4 cactus (2016). I'll give you the back story. Her battery was dead (was on the way out for a while). So her and a neighbour tried to jump start it and then the "engine fault: stop vehicle" sign came up. When I got home I changed the battery and the sign was still there. The car was turning over but it would not start.

I then plugged my code reader in and got 2 codes:

P0003- fuel volume regulator control circuit low

P0245- turbocharger waste gate solenoid.

I've done a few tests and the engine definitely is not getting any fuel. I have no idea where the fuel volume regulator is.

I'm assuming something has blown from when they tried to jump start the car? The fuses are all fine. Could it be a relay?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

It sounds like there may have been some crossed wires at some point. Reversed Polarity can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins.

A jump start shouldn't cause any issues, but as mentioned above, if they allowed the +ve lead to touch anything except the battery terminal, or if the leads were connected wrong way around even for a second the 24v surge can cause lots of problems.

There are 3 fuse boxes on your car, Have you checked the main fuses (all metal bar type) on the +ve terminal from the battery? If you have a multimeter set it to continuity test and go through all of every fuse in this box as it is the one most likely to suffer in this scenario and has all the engine fuel related fuses and relays.

F8 could be the culprit, but so could any of the fuses to the BIS so check them all. Good luck.
