Fiesta ST Mk7 rear speaker replacement mounts?
Discussion
Hi, my rear speakers in my ST are shagged, so I thought some decent replacements were in order.
I purchased some 6.5" Alpine SPG-17C2's as the rears are 6.5".
Now I plan on having them sit behind the standard rear covers. I assumed I wouldn't need any mounts, but thinking about it I know assumptions are a gateway to a shedload of headaches, so will I have any issues?

There're plenty of holes in the speaker rims, so you'd have to be very unlucky not to find an angle you can screw then straight in if the size is correct.
When you do, though, consider why the old ones failed - do you turn the HU right up, which probably results in the signal to the speakers being clipped? This is the quickest way to kill speakers, and nicer speakers are more sensitive to it than the rubbish installed by Ford... so if you were doing that, and continue, they will die faster.
