I've got a 2010 E90 320d ED (the one with the old school LCD radio) and I want to fit a dashcam to the rear - I've hard wired it in to the front, but I didn't realise that the rear camera needs a power source to work (I assumed it came from the cable from the front).

My question is this - Where do I get power from as some forums say the reverse light, but that seems specific to a reversing camera?

Thanks

Reversing light is only to power reversing cameras

Straight off the battery with an inline fuse if the car is in constant use?

If not, the same place you took the front camera power from then run it under the carpet / door cill trim?

I'm hoping this isn't the only way, only because the power cable that came with the rear camera is significantly shorter than the cable for the feed....

Isn't the battery under the boot floor?

It's off to the side and I ended up running a power cable to the rear from the fuse box at the front, which seemed to do the trick.
