Speed - Google Maps
Discussion
In my car (2018 Seat Leon FR) I utilise Google Maps on my phone displayed on the car's screen using Android Auto via a USB connection.
I have the setup of Google Maps configured to show the local speed limit & the car's speed (Speedometer). Speed limit is displayed but not the speed. Does this not work in Google Maps or is there some other set-up I need to do?

No idea for Google maps but Waze shows it, which is what I always use.
The version of AA in my car only allows some apps to be transferred to the car. Waze isn't one of them.I find having Google Maps on the car screen useful as it enables my wife (passenger) to also see the display. I usually only listen to the voice directions with only the very occasional glances at the screen.

Really? I used to have a 2016 Leon FR and Waze worked fine with Android Auto on that. I think you do need to setup Waze in the app on your phone first before it appears in AA (and randomly it disappears unless you go in to the app on your phone, I think when it’s had an update maybe).I find having Google Maps on the car screen useful as it enables my wife (passenger) to also see the display. Thanks. I'll try your suggestion.
Let me know how it goes, I constantly use Waze, even when I know where I’m going as it has saved me from some nasty traffic jams many, many times!AA & Waz are latest versions but Android on my phone (Honor 9 Lite) is version 9.

Hmmm mine shows it on the car screen, try going in to the options in Waze when in AA before you select a route and see if there are options in there (I think there are).AA & Waz are latest versions but Android on my phone (Honor 9 Lite) is version 9.

Am I right in saying that Google maps only displays the speed limit if it’s actually navigating a route? I have mine displaying but without a destination set, and it doesn’t show speed limits
I'll try that next time I'm in the car. It doesn't always show the speed limit when navigating & also sometimes gets it wrong. A local road went from 60 to 40 many years ago but Google Maps shows 50.Happened to me recently (only showing speed limit, not actual speed).
In frustration after looking for an options menu without any success, I randomly clicked on the speed limit shown and the limit and actual speed reappeared. Seems on my version of Android the display simply toggles when you touch the speed limit.
Love the way Android is so intuitive - until it isn't.
