Recalibrating speedo

Here one which I fancy examining in more detail …

My speedo has a top speed listed at 170, which it will likely reach 155 easily. I never get to half that so most driving is sub 50 and driving at 30 is hard to judge as the visual margins of 20-25-30 are so small.

Would it be possible to recalibrate the speedo so no more than say, 100, over the same physical area of movement, and change the dials to reflect this.

Depends on the car

With modern obd cars there are typically easier solutions

Ooh, interesting, though the dial is traditional not an LCD..

You can get digital speedos that use GPS:

Or there are some on Amazon that are similar but have a cable that plug into the OBD port.
