BMW E60 screen upgrade options

Im picking up an '08 E60 shortly, pretty happy with the sounds from it, its not earth shattering but itll do, but the one thing i do wish to sort is the screen/headunit. It has proNav and a 6cd changer presently, couldnt see an AUX in.. Its a bit clunky and slow so id like, if possible, to update this - does anyone know if this is possible, if so, what do i need?
And if anyone knows of a good installer who could possibly tackle this for me in the S Wales/Cardiff area thatd be great.

Recently put an Andream unit in ours. Carplay and Android Auto. Works 90% of the time, my pixel phone doesn't always remember the Bluetooth pairing. Wife has no trouble with iPhone.

Original idrive functions, long press on spinny wheel thing to access.

Bluetooth phone functionality isn't the best as microphone is built into unit. Screen quality is top notch, can't count the pixels like the original unit. Reverse sensors all function, picks up as you turn the wheel while reversing and has option to add reversing camera.

It needs an Aux input for the sound to work, for years ours has sounded flat almost mono. Turns out the input was wired incorrectly from the factory. Overall very happy for the price, arrived in around 10 days with no import duty.

The AUX in socket is on the back of the armrest between the cigarette lighter sockets.

Yes, plenty of videos on YouTube. Find yourself some trim removal tools and a couple of screwdrivers and torx bits.

Just check you have the Aux in in centre console behind rear seats.

It isn't OEM standard but for a few hundred quid it is excellent value.
