There is a whole host of brands out there - Scorpian, SmartTrack, Trackstar, Vodaphone protect, Teletrac etc etc

When we were looking at various brands and which to stock, we dug deeply into the subscription costs as ultimately that's the real money cruncher as while some trackers initially sound cheap, they have high yearly sub costs in contrast to others.

We ended up with MetaTrak, firstly because they are the VAG approved and we do a lot of VAG vehicles so it made sense to stock something warranty friendly but two, because their subscription costs were reasonable. You can pick up a MetaTrak S5-VTS tracker for around £470 supplied & fitted including a years sub, then after that it's £169.95 yearly which works out to be about £14 a month.

In terms of features, as the S5 has to meet Thatcham criteria, they all do more or less the same so I would really focus on costs personally & shop around for a good installer which makes the world of difference having it installed somewhere unique and hard to get to rather than a bang in and go installer.

Did you look at automatrics mtrack. With its ability to send out a beacon for radio direction finding gets round the problem of lack of gps positioning when a car is in a container for example (but requires a hunter fairly local with a df antenna)

Hi there,

Ah didn't realise you were local. I think it's against PH rules for me to give out direct contact details but if you wish to get in touch, everything in my bio should you want a chat about some options.

Cheers, Jay
