Cat 2 Immobiliser advice/help........
Insured with Greenlight who tell me that they will only insure for theft if a Cat 2 immobiliser is fitted, Ghost 2 is not on their 'approved' list apparently, my local fitter/shop (Epsom, Surrey) has tried to fit a Cobra Cat 2 this morning but cannot due to the car 'being push button start'........
Really not sure what to do next, change insurance companies? (got a great deal inc. mods with Greenlight) or use another fitting company, anyone local-ish advise on Cat 2 immobiliser fitting in the Surrey area??
Thanks for any help/advice guys ??

I believe it does Chris
Spoke to a guy at Greenlight who admitted that the Ghost was a great immobiliser & probably the best on the market at the moment, but they have to go by their 'approved' list of (old school) Cat 2's
Looking increasingly like a change of Insurer is on the cards..

The Ghost system doesn't make the CAT2 factory immobiliser redundant though does it? Isn't the Ghost a secondary security system, on top of the factory fitted ones? If it's come from the factory with CAT2, then you've fitted Ghost, it should still have CAT2? This is assuming it's not an import, which may not have CAT2 from the factory.

Yes, I believe that the Ghost would be a secondary system They're probably one of the most popular immobiliser systems in the RS community, a strange decision from Greenlight as apparently the factory system is better than the Cat 2 they wanted fitted

Sorry, I'm not following then, the Ghost is irrelevant, the car has CAT2 immobiliser and therefore, Greenlight should insure it?
Spoke to Greenlight, they will not insure the car for theft unless an 'aftermarket Cat2 immobilser is fitted', he mentioned Cobra/Clifford etc.....Edit:
Well, after a fairly long phone call to Greenlight, explaining the pro's/cons of dinosaur type Cat 2 v Ghost & they've 'sanctioned' the fitting of a Ghost system, I can sleep a bit better now
Thanks for all the help/comments guys, much appreciated
