Hi,

I'm hoping someone here can help? I'm after a Ghost Immobiliser II installer in the West Midlands?

Any one got any recommendations?

Cheers!

Cheers fella.

Looks like it won't work with my car anyway

Pandora Car Alarms are Redditch based and offer a comparable product. Call & ask for Tom.

One recommendation is that you make sure that it won't invalidate your warranty. There's a thread on PH where one was fitted to, I think, a BMW and a warranty claim was denied because of it.

Ouch! To be honest I think I'm going to hold fire as its a pretty new car. I'm sure an approved system will be available later down the line.

It may be OK'd by the car manufacturer. you just to get their approval in writing to save possible grief later on.

OP, whilst it’s a faff, a proper steering wheel lock I.e. one that covers the entire steering wheel ala a Disklok will stop many low life as it’s a good visual deterrent. A Ghost device or similar is ok for insurance purposes but doesn't stop them trying.

Lad who did mine (and my tracker) covers the entire UK. He’s called Ben Hadfield, if you look on most FB forums you’ll see his name recommended. I can send you his contact info if you want

I couldn't agree more.

This was on my beloved M2C. In its defence the filthy scum that nicked it took all the keys when they broke in so with some irony it was stolen along with the car. laugh

(I can laugh about it now as I've had excellent therapy)

So really I was after something that if they got in the car no matter how hard they tried they couldn't start it or if they could after a safe distance it would disable itself.

But another Disklok is en route

Nothing but it's about making it inconvenient for a thief. To be honest, If there's a security post, an alarm, 6 cameras and a disklok and they still want to try breaking in to get the car keys I guess nothing apart from Police intervention is stopping your car from getting stolen.

I honestly believe that most car thieves are after the silent quick in and out rather than smashing through internally locked doors, while alarms are going off.

"Post and alarm, let's go to another house"

I could be wrong but I'll be aiming at getting a Ghost Immobiliser on the next fun car.

One option is to get a tracker. Some like the Scorpiontrack S5 have a built in immobiliser that requires a separate fob to start the engine. So even if they clone your keyless entry it won’t start or if steal your car keys the car won’t start, if you keep the fob separately.

A faraday pouch is also good for keeping your car keys in overnight so it can’t get cloned.

If the worst happens, the tracker will lead the police to get your car back or the location of their chop shop.

The Meta S5 Deadlock is, I believe, like this too ... Tracker and a separate immobiliser deactivated via a fob.
