After one too many close calls on the M1 I'm going to get a DashCam fitted.

Appreciate Halfords don't have the best rep but does anyone have any feedback on their installation service?

It's going into a 2019 VW Arteon which looks to be pretty simple..

depends what pimply teenager is on duty that day

if wasnt able to diy it i would seek an auto electrician that knows his stuff ....although chances are its just shoving the wire under the door rubber and piggybacking into a fuse

Agreed. Looking at the Nextbase 522 if anyone has experience?

I had a 522 and had a lot of issues with it. Despite using the Nextbase cable set I had problems with it draining the battery so not starting it also overheated (common problem) and needed a hard reset. Tech support appears to be based around blaming everything on which SD card is being used.

I ditched it and went for a Thinkware Q800 which was easier to fit behind the mirror and has not given a single problem.

Go Blackvue, don't look back. Get a proper auto electrician to install it if you can would be my advise.

Watch some vids on piggy back fuses, really simple. Wouldn’t let Halfords do it even if free

Blackvue do a power cable that plugs into OBD port. So a nice simple installation.

You can by a reconditioned camera direct from their website, Saving approx 30%

Get 1 year warranty, same as brand new,Had mine about 18mths and been fine.
