Just looking for some advice. I have a TVR Chimaera and it's undergoing a lot of modification. One thing I am thinking of doing is simplifying the door panels which currently house 6" full range speakers. I also have 6x9 full range in the rear.

Given the car is so small, could I get away with 6x9 full range in the rear and just tweeters on the front?

Probably, but it'll mess the staging up terribly (might possibly be salvageable with a time-delay system). Ditch the 6x9s completely, get a set of decently installed comps in the front. With good sealing and plenty of panel-deadening, they'll sound fine... if you amp them, maybe even great!
6" will do mid-bass well, so if you play pop or rock, you'll not need much more; if you like anything with serious low bass, you'd be better off finding somewhere to fit a sub - 6x9s won't give you much more bass than 6"ers anyway.

ETA: if there are no separate tweeters currently in the doors, then mounting those either on the a-pillars (best for staging but means mounting pods - a lot of work to look right), or in the corners of the dash (bouncing off the windscreen - not so good for staging purity, but does lift the stage well and is dead easy to do) will work wonders. Mounting tweeters down in the OE 6" speaker positions would sound terrible.

Tweeters only in the front is not something which should be considered. Going down to 5” at the front could be an option, could be made to look much more streamlined than deep fitting 6” components

Thanks. I'll investigate those suggestions
