Best speed camera detector 2021
Discussion
Ive just got pinged by a mobile unit doing 37 in a 30. Thankfully I think they will offer an online speed awareness. Anyhow its prompted me to look again for a speed camera detector. I had looked at a Road Angel but there are some poor reviews on Trust Pilot. Same for Waze. Just wondering if anyone had one that they rated. Thanks

So a built up area?If it was 69 in a clear-sighted NSL I think you’d have more sympathy.
But you want to find a way to continue to drive over the limit in villages and towns, without being man enough to deal with the consequences of getting caught?

In any case, avoiding detection is not dealing with consequences.
Try to ignore the idiots. Pistonheads is not what is used to be.
Each one of the idiots saying stay within the speed limits will probably exceed that on their way home this evening at some point without even noticing, but seem to get some sort of pleasure jumping on threads like this
I use waze on long journeys, but for short ones I simply use my car cam. It wasn't too expensive. It looks front and rear, and it has a speed camera database on it with a verbal warning of the correct speed to be travelling. It updates from my phone. Its also got lane departure warning in it.
Honestly worth the investment
Radar detectors, even the really expensive ones are pretty rubbish unfortunately

It wasn't until my girlfriend, who is currently learning to drive, said that the 20mph signs are too small and many times are hard to spot, that I realised that I now completely rely on Waze to know the speed limit in built up areas.
They are small. Why are they nowhere near as big as the 30mph signs?
I did a long walk within Richmond borough yesterday and did notice that the 20s don't have their own dedicated pole. They are just strapped to any available street furniture.
Probably explains why everyone sticks resolutely to 20, even on the odd 30mph roads.
Very frustrating.

I am thinking that any driver who needs a detector is either deliberately wanting to break the law or needs more training in order to drive correctly .....
FFS this is a motoring forum not mumsnet, have you never broken a speed limit? As others have said Waze works very well op. Hope you get offered a course rather than points.
Laser Detector: Pointless as a laser speed device will calculate your speed in under a second
Radar Detector: Pointless as the vast vast majority of Police mobile speed devices are Lidar (Laser)
Laser Jammer: This will work but expect jail time.
Waze App: Best solution as speed locations are reported by the community. You only really run a risk if you're the first Waze user to drive past the enforcement location.
Cheapest/Easiest: Read the road signs and stick to the limit

The repeaters are always smaller, the main signage entering a 20 will be the standard big size alwaysThey are small. Why are they nowhere near as big as the 30mph signs?
