I’ve an old MGF with its original CD single slot head unit.

Is there any way I can get a connection spliced into its wires so I can play Spotify from my iPhone?

I know I could buy a modern head unit but I want the car to look as OEM as possible.

I don’t need it to make calls or anything like that. I’m also not bothered about the CD not working Just playing Spotify.

Is there a way this is possible or is the output of an iPhone digital and therefore not compatible with analog output/input?

Apologies if this is a really dumb question, but I know nothing about ICE/electronics.

One of these will do the job:

Bluetooth connect your phone to it to play Spotify etc, and then tune the existing car radio into the frequency and listen via the FM radio (the device effectively creates a small area broadcast radio station).

If it's the Kenwood with just a tuner and a CD, you're going to struggle. Unless you're a stickler for originality, probably best going for an aftermarket jobbie with Bluetooth. Some things, trying to bodge together is too difficult.

Thanks both.

I’ll check out the radio transmitter thing.

One of my niggles with modern head units is that they seem to come with lots of bright fascia lights, I want something modern with the subtle orange lights that looks that it’s from 20 years ago.

I know there are retro looking head units out there but I’m not sure 2000 is retro enough.

If the head unit has the ability to fit a cd multichanger and you want something better quality and more oem look than above look at something like a Dension Gateway
