Evening,

Out of my comfort zone here, but I can run wires from A to B.

Previous owner removed his head unit and amp, leaving a non connected Indianapolis Pro and 5 miles of wiring.

Head unit powers up and I have the code but it is not connected to the speakers.

Running a wire from the head unit + and - speaker output straight to the speaker doesn’t offer an sound.

What am I not doing here ?

There are these connectors in the doors for each speaker, Do they need these to make the speakers work ?

The loom has been nicely cut...
Thanks

That looks like an aftermarket 2 way crossover to allow a tweeter and a mid/woofer to be driven from a single channel output from the amplifier.
Does the car have non standard speakers still fitted, maybe large units in the door, or in the dashboard and some small tweeters stuck to the dash or the A pillars?
These may have been removed when the headunit was removed/replaced.

Edit: your later posts show the aftermarket Focal speakers so that is good.
Do you have any tweeters fitted to the car?

There are two tweeters one on each door card.

They aren't 2 way crossovers but single channel. So you should have 4 in total - one for each speaker.

I had not heard of single crossovers before. Are these like high and low pass filters?

Found this on the Focal website which describes them as separable crossovers, every day is a school day thumbup

Crossover is a bit of a misnomer. It's s bit lazy really but I guess its so they can sell the speakers separately.

To wire them up you can connect the rest out put to the woofer and the front to the tweeter. Or if you want to keep the rear output for other rear speakers, you can connect front output to the woofer and then daisy chain to the tweeter input with some additional wire.

Unless the Becker can run 2/3 way active, in which case you can bin them off completely.

Sounds like the head unit is faulty (no pun intended)
