is the US they have a panic alarm button on key fobs. anything similar here?
Yes and its really fking annoying. Its right next to the boot release button on my Corvette and a few times ive rummaged in my pocket to unlock the boot and have set the fricking alarms off instead.
Totally pointless invention.

Any 2004 onwards Volvo. If you press the triangle button twice quickly on the key fob, the horn goes off beeping constantly, and the indicators flash quickly too. Not sure how close/far you need to be to activate it, but it does work on all Volvo's from 2004 onwards. Its apparently supposed to be a panic alarm button on the key.

It certainly does. I managed to set mine off with my key in my pocket Edited by ads_4116 on Sunday 3rd January 16:54
The New Beetle I used to have had a similar arrangement, but that set off the alarm siren rather than the horn.
