I got a no power going to the rear fog light problem. there is no power coming from the fog light connector that clips on to the light cluster going to the fog light. all the other lights work, which suggests it isn't a ground problem. the bulb is good, the dash light and fog button light up. the fuse and relay are also good. the fog relay clicks when I press the fog button.
Does the relay power the wire going to the fog light? Will I have to take the dash out?

Anyway whilst taking the bulb out to test I noticed this connector. is it standard fitting? Does anyone know what it 's for?

Maybe the Fog Light will come on when your main lights are on?
Have you tried this?

Weirdly enough, on the Jaguar XK8, the fog light stops working when a sounder for the alarm system gets wet inside ( from memory) A Jaguar forum pointed me in the right direction.
Is there a forum for your car ?

No towbar. Not sure if it had one before I bought it. I bought it in August.

Can't find a diagram

If you're sure that the relay and fuse are ok there should be a supply on the fog lamp cable at the front end of the rear loom, check that and work along towards the rear

As someone has already mentioned, vehicle could have had a tow bar in the past and that tow bar wiring would have broken the vehicle rear fog lamp circuit, look for where the cable was cut into to break the circuit, that's if a tow bar was fitted in the past

Get yourself a definite
2 ways hard wire fog light to confirm it works power from 12 volt supply ie power outlet/cigarette lighter
now you have a definite
if it does work confirm power at fuse box relay when operated from switch
if you have that run a new cable
