We're having a problem on our road with my wife's car being repeatedly keyed. It coincides with harrassment we're also receiving from a problem neighbour - these may/may not be linked.

It's all on street parking and limited so CCTV from the house won't be any use.

Getting to the point, are dashcams good enough to pick up this sort of damage, will they drain the battery, should we just get a massive one as a deterrant? Any advice or recommendations of something that will work would be appreciated. I don't mind being told I'd be wasting my money..

Cheers

Probably depends on lighting

If you use the car every other day you’ll probably be ok with the battery issue, of course you’ll need a big enough card to store it before overwriten. Imagine you capture something at 8pm and don’t notice until the following morning, will it store enough

One good thing our dash cam has caught in your deployment situation is accidental damage rather than vandalism

I’d say stealth install is better than massive ugly camera

Even if it doesn’t work like you think a dash cam isn’t a bad thing to have for day to day use
