Oh hello, I do like your stuff and nearly bought one when I was looking to upgrade to DAB in my older car, but I don't drive enough these days so. Good to know there's a discount out there if I ever get to drive again......

Meant to add, can you find a way to get the buttons onto the right, or an option for no buttons and a remote mountable button panel or stalk thing?

In a world of 3D printers, I could probably do something myself, but think it would open the market up for more options.

Hi Xtrons, good to see you here.
I have a 20 year old Porsche with a first generation Satnav etc. I am thinking of replacing it and the aperture in the dash is large enough for double din but would require a new surround plate.

I see you have a few double din Android 10 units. Do these have Android auto?
If I wanted hands free phone and DAB+ then what else would I need (microphone, aerial etc?).

Do you sell the wiring harness adapters and new fascia surrounds?

How does Android get updated on these units, or does it just stay at the one version?

Sorry for the multiple numpty questions.

Same, but a Classic Mini. The surround is a relatively simple fix if you don't mind a bit of work, find someone to design and 3D print it, or design it yourself. Would be easier to buy one obviously but it's not the end of the road if that's not possible.

Hi Scrump, thanks for your response! We do have Double DIN models, and our catalogue can be organised by manufacturer. Products that fit Porsche models are here - https://xtrons.co.uk/porsche

And Double DIN models are here - https://xtrons.co.uk/head-units/double-din-car-ste...

There is of course some overlap between the two categories.

This model of surround plate would seem to fit with what you’re asking for - https://xtrons.co.uk/porsche-various-fascia-panel-...

In response to your question about Android Auto, whilst this is relatively new tech, many of our units support Screen Mirroring in the same manner, look for the “Screen Mirroring” function in the tech specs. In order to make calls hands free, and to use DAB+, you would need to order a DAB+ receiver stick and a microphone separately. Both are available from our Accessories store -

https://xtrons.co.uk/car-media-fitting-accessories...

https://xtrons.co.uk/car-media-fitting-accessories...

Fascia Panels, wiring adapter cages and ISO harnesses are available here -

https://xtrons.co.uk/car-media-fitting-accessories...

https://xtrons.co.uk/car-media-fitting-accessories...

https://xtrons.co.uk/car-media-fitting-accessories...

In response to your question about Android versions, the Android version is tied to the hardware, though the smartphone itself can be changed so long as it runs the same Android version. We can update the firmware, but not the Android OS. I'm sure there are workarounds, but we can only recommend you run the units with the OS they are designed for!

Hope this helps!

Best,

XTRONS staff.

Hi Paul, while we don't do custom items for the classic Mini, we do have a range of stereos in standard single and double DIN sizes, which could be paired with Steering Wheel Controls for a similar effect?

Thanks xtrons. My Porsche is the older model to that listed for the fascia, but no problem.
I will take a look at the other links.

I have a 997.1 2006 car with BOSE. Do the specific head units come in grey as well as black, and is a BOSE adaptor included?

Hi there, our Porsche units come with Optical Fiber Decoder for the factory digital amplifier sound system.

We are going to run this question by our engineers to see if that can hook up with the BOSE systems. We'll let you know smile

In terms of the head-units, the most suitable ones for your very awesome car can be found here https://xtrons.co.uk/porsche

Hi!

We're very sorry, but we only have a LHD version of that stereo as it stands, for US and EU markets.

Thanks for your question!

Hi there!

In terms of software, unfortunately we don't have the expertise to recommend upgrades, and this would be a question you'd have to put to the car's manufacturer. Whilst we have units for most Mercedes-Benz models, we do not have any specific to the GLA series.

Sorry we don't have better news!

Best,

Hi again!

Thanks for your patience. Having chatted with our engineers, the Optical Fiber Decoder will connect with the BOSE system, there should be no need for an extra adapter.

Thanks!
