So I thought I'd finally sorted out my aftermarket head for my Nissan. Little annoying problem. When I turn my headlights on, the screen brightens up. And when turn them off, the screen darkens. Frustrating...

My head unit (Atoto A6) has an orange wire which is supposed to control the dimmer. It's obviously connected to something, just that the something is not doing as it should. Any suggestions on how to sort/reverse this please?

Likely the orange wire either goes to 12V or to 0V when the lights are on and vice versa when off, signalling the head unit. There may be a setting in the head unit to control which voltage means dim the display. If there isn't a setting, you'll need to fit some gadget to invert the signal.

If you have an electronic dimmer for the speedo / dash. illumination, it does strange things.
You will have to take a trigger from example the side lights.
Simple test, touch the orange to A positive and see if it dims as should.
