Hi all

Installed the above head unit in my 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX. However when I connect my (admittedly st Motorola) Android phone via the USB it tells me I have to put the car in park. The manual says if you use a USB cable combo that's over 2m long you can get errors. Has anyone else got this stereo and had issues like this? Android Auto capability was one of the reasons I bought it...

If I remember rightly, this head unit has a handbrake switch wire as part of the loom. Did you wire it up?

Might want to consider one of these if your passenger wants to use it while you're moving biggrin

Take a look at this video mate.. shows you how to bypass the app control when driving.

Just connect the green/white to the ground..

Unfortunately, that doesn't work and disables the ability to edit various settings. The Pioneer units look for a switched ground, hence the need for the bypass relay I linked.
