I removed a pointless Parrot kit from my E46 Convertible and now the radio powers on but there is no sound at all.

I don't have an amp and pretty sure I have removed every trace of the Parrot kit.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Is it possible that there was a feed from the Parrot to automtically dim the volume on the radio, and you've missed it?

Or maybe that it worked the other way round and the radio needed some kind of signal from the Parrot to activate the volume?

On mine, the feed to the speakers was unplugged and fed into the back of the Parrot, then the speakers connected to the output of the Parrot.
Did you just unplug everything and toss the box in the bin? If so you just need to plug the speakers back into the radio.

Thanks for the replies!

I stripped everything out from behind the glove box.

There is an intermediate connector that was used to join car to kit. It had BMW markings on the plastic and had an extra plug with amp on it.

The way I have it now is original connector into back radio and aerial.

I really can't think what else would be stopping the sound.

I pulled the fuses and unplugged battery.

I don't even think there is a way to set the radio!

Did you remove anything from behind the head unit?

In my experience of parrot there is an harness that plugs in between the speakers and head unit so the parrot can send sound to the speakers. If you haven’t removed that, then the head unit is no longer connected to the speakers.

Hi,

Yeah the i removed everything from behind the head unit.

The radio just has the standard loom and aerial plugged in.

All functions work just no sound, not even crackling.

On your car is it a basic radio unit or the sat nav screen type
