Audi TT 8J / Mk II Bose amp repair - any thoughts?

Hi all, my partner's car has presumably suffered well known water ingress issues where the amp gets wet and chips are frazzled meaning gradual failure of the amp.

Has anyone used one of various eBay-based Bose or general amp repair services where chips are removed, new ones installed, and guards added to prevent recurrence of the water ingress issue, and has any feedback for them?
