New car battery purchased 18 months ago and now it won't turn the engine over, alternator fine, no drain issues took it for a test and instead of having 720 cca it now only has 111 cca, still in guarantee but supplier won't replace until I get a battery test slip saying the battery is faulty, any ideas?

Get a battery test slip then? (from whoever tested it for you) and try to get it replaced.

Or buy another battery.

Don't see you've got any other options to be fair....

They need the printed slip from the battery tester, seems a poor excuse to welch on a warranty which is the more annoying thing!

What brand of battery? Some now have chips inside which trigger once they go below a set voltage (usually 10.5v) and invalidate the warranty.

Anecdotally I've heard quite a few car alarms go off recently which can likely be attributed to low usage in lockdown, with a modern car it generally needs at least an hours drive every week to keep the battery in decent condition if left standing.
