Old in car phone?

Hi all,

This is attached to a plate in the boot of my new (to me) car. A flat black box, about 10x8x0.5 inches, powered and an antenna cable attached. The google tells me it’s something to do with a 90’s car phone but details/info are sparse. Any use to anyone or worth anything?
