I'm looking for some in-car overnight security....basically I just want something that will pick up movement in the vicinity of the car and start to record. Would rather not hardwire but could if necessary.

I've had a look on the dashcam thread but most (unsurprisingly!) are dashcams - when I really only want the dashcam function for when I'm not in the car.

Any recommendations appreciated!

I'm using a Blackvue DR3500 front only it's now in my second car in 4 years. Always been hardwired just need to replace the SD cards once in awhile but Sony seem more reliable.
Parents have a more modern one, front and rear again hardwired.
GF has a thinkware F200 front and rear was problematic at first but behaving with a sony sd card.
It's not hard to hardwire but not for everyone. I definitely prefer the blackvue and they even do an adapter for the obd port.
