I've recently purchased a F800 Pro 2CH dashcam as i've been having some issues with vandalism on my car but the power cable for the main camera isn't long enough to reach the battery/fuse box which is in the boot of my 4 series.

I was wondering if anyone knows any places that could do some soldering/crimping work for me near Wallingford/Oxford or down by Brighton, I just need the cable extended and terminated fuse taps etc.

Thanks a lot,

Josh.

Try the front fuse box instead - usually behind the glove box.

There’s a cigarette lighter under the glove box

Only if you have the storage pack, but my 3 series had one there.

However....the easiest routing to a power source is along the headliner, to the a pillar passenger side, then under the interior rubber seal for the door, across b pillar, under interior rubber for rear door and into the boot via the seat (mine folded).

Plugged into the rear I didn't lose any handy 12vs in the cabin and it's much easier . You just need a pry tool and 5 minutes.

The problem is that it’s for parking mode too which is why it needs to reach to the boot. I don’t think the other solutions will work for this?

And a longer cable unfortunately haha, that’s the problem. No way it reaches without an extension.

The standard cable I've had with every dash cam has been long enough, you must be unlucky!

Yeah it’s very frustrating haha.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Or perhaps know a good place to just have it fitted etc.

Thanks

You can get extension cables, just make sure you select the right connector - mini-USB or micro-USB
