Son's VW Polo 9N3 - audio upgrade HELP
Discussion
Hi All,
My son, who is still learning to drive and is a petrol head, wants to change his double din head unit.
On Ebay, there are many double din andriod/apple units from £50.
It looks like the connectors at the back are different shapes but they do provide the right connectors with bare wires.
Am I right in thinking that it is a simple case of cut the connector from the car and splice the new one in?
I think I can figure out the speaker cables (only 2 speakers) but how will identify the main cable?

Done this on my son's Polo - best thing is to go to a site like https://incartec.co.uk/Volkswagen and select the car.
TO save on wiring it's best to get a connector which provides a live feed rather than having to run cable to fuse box.
there is also some good You tube videos.

Put the original stereo back in if you end up getting a guy come to fit a back box, mind... posts on here suggest that they will report any changes to the car back to the insurance as modifications, which a lot of insurers aren't happy with for new drivers. (And this is much easier with the previously mentioned ISO adaptor!)
