Hi MY Problem is this, Ive just passed my test - Ive got a grand to spend on my first car , BUT The trouble is none of the old bangers I can afford have any way to play "itunes" etc , My mates recon I need something with an AUX outlet at the very least ! - but all these old Corsas, Hyundais and puntos I,m looking at have CD/Radio at best - What can I do ? is there an upgrade I can buy that will link an i phone X to these older systems speakers - Is there a partucular make/model thats cheap but also comes with more modern compatability ? - What year did AUX become standard issue ? Or should I just buy some C/D,s and tapes - Lol.

Just throw any cheap £99 Halfords head unit in and it will have USB / Aux / Bluetooth etc

Either buy a cheap headunit, or there may be a way to add an aux cable at the back of the stereo. Often this is due to the presence of a socket normally used for multi CD changers.

I'd say don't prioritise features like this on the car that you choose, but add a cheap headunit to the best car you can find in terms of condition etc.

I have a 2-din headunit in a couple of my cars, but I do prefer a 1-din as there's more super cheap aftermarket options available.

Agreed with dibble here. Remember you can keep the original headunit, and take out the aftermarket one if and when you sell the car, so you can always transfer it over (assuming the new car is a single DIN one too if you dont want to faff with adapters etc).

Yup this is a good option too.
