Excellent factory fit DAB radio in my Prius, but all of a sudden, reception has been patchy at best.

I discovered today that charging anything (usually my phone) in the cigar lighter causes this. Unplug whatever is charging and it's suddenly ok. Tried different cables, chargers and things to charge, same in every case.

It never used to do this, any ideas on what might have changed?

Try a different USB adapter, imo it is likely to be that.

Your charger is most likely producing a load of interference. What sorts are they out of interest? Cheap rubbish, or something you might expect to be reputable?

I had similar with the DAB reception in my car. A more expensive, branded charger cured the issue.

Ahh, could be the charger. Ebay special.

I'll get a decent one and see if it makes a difference.

Also worth getting a charging cable with the ferrite/ferrous/whatever coils each end as these help reduce the cable acting as a transmitting aerial while passing current.

But IME, mainly the charger wink

I have this one and it doesn't appear to interfere with DAB

This happens on my Lexus and on the misses Urban Criuser, I've tried several chargers and all do the same.

Anker or rav power

If it still doesn’t help grab a couple of beefy usb battery packs and rotate them when they get low, bloody handy to have them in the car for other purposes
