Anyone Using an iPhone as a Dashcam?

Morning all.

Just wondering if anyone on PH uses their iPhone as a dashcam? I’ve read the reviews on Smart Dash Cam and Dash Cam 2, both of which seem to be free, but I'm looking for recent real-world experience.

I'm not intending to become a DCW, but as I have the technology, and would only need to buy a windscreen mount, it seems worth further investigation.

Waste of time, you won’t keep setting it up etc

Buy a 30 quid dash cam, fit and forget

Smartphones have the wrong sort of lens in them, you want a very wide angle lens in a dash cam. A phone will be better than nothing, but I’d go dedicated camera too if I was going to have one.
