Has anyone seen a rather flatter one of these, they all seem to be about 2-3" long. I'm after one for a rear dvd player to fit a 12v outlet between the 2 front seats.
But I don't want 2" of plastic sticking out and the little compartment open for my 5 year old to stand on!
I hoping to fit the socket and then close the compartment.
I'm not after a permanent install just yet.
Thanks.

Not sure if this will do what you are looking for:

I fitted one of these for a similar reason (though I wanted to add an additional socket) and needed the tray to be closed.

It has a short plug and the wire comes out of the side. It has been in and working fine for over a year now.

Om, thanks that's not bad actually. I will have to join wires into a cig lighter socket so no reason why I can't just cut the double adapter off or I suppose I could wire a "normal" lighter and then hide it and plug it into this. Either way the best I've seen so far.

Is this one low-profile enough?
