Hi guys, I am buying a (OK, OK, I know) little Suzuki Celerio as a small car runaround for work as my Insignia can't access the basement car park, it is too tight a turn for large cars.

So, if I remove the stereo to add speakers etc... I have to input the radio code for it to work again after refitting. If I buy an aftermarket head unit e.g. a Blaupunkt CD, MP3 Bluetooth head unit (or similar), will this need the code to start working as the factory fitted unit does?

I appreciate I will need a head unit fascia panel to fit it and maybe a harness adaptor, its just the code thing that is bugging me. Or does an aftermarket head unit not require this security code to work, just the Suzuki stereo needs it?

Many thanks to any advice replies

I bought he SZ3 Celerio instead of the SZ2 model so the head unit is fine, bluetooth built in.

It is fitted with a standard audio Head Unit (Panasonic Bluetooth PA84M6) and original crappy door speakers, that buzz and vibrate at the first whiff of bass. So I want to upgrade the speakers.

Using the F-R fader on the stereo, there is only sound from the front door speakers, not from the rear, so I guess it doesn't have rear door speakers fitted or they have been disconnected?

Before I go taking door panels off, carpets up and the head unit out can anyone answer these questions please?

1. Do all models of the same vehicle have the same loom so if no rear speakers are fitted, it would still have the wiring in place for cars that owners retrofit/higher models can have them, rather than have different looms?

2. I cannot find any wiring diagram etc for the head unit online. Can anyone shed any light on what each socket is etc... on the back of the head unit? This is my head unit model picture below of the rear from Google. It is for that model.

Many thanks, I know it's a long shot as this is not a Celerio forum but I cannot find one so thought other Suzuki minded folks may be able to help?

nly the SZ4 had rear speakers; the SZ2 and SZ3 just had the two front ones so it's likely that you'll have to put up with just the front ones.

I'd expect the wiring to there in the rear doors, but check before spending money wink

It'd probably actually be easier to tell what's coming out of your stereo by seeing the wires on the plug - if you're lucky, they'll be ISO colours or very close. If I had to guess, I'd say the 2 sets of 4 larger connectors on the outside edges of the black socket are likely to be the speaker connections, so that would be 4 pairs for 4 speakers... but that's not to say they're connected to anything inside the HU!

Cheers Defblade, I know in the past that wiring was usually similar across a models range so it is easier when building. I am hoping the wires are under the carpet or in the door pillar. As the SZ4 apparently has rear speakers I would presume the HU is wired inside for them on mine as the HU is the same model on both cars (fingers crossed)
It is a great little car I bought for work, currently averages 58+mpg and zero roadtax fee. But no support anywhere online. Suzuki Forums dont even have the model on them (apart from the models in India) and Haynes don't do a manual, no online wiring diagrams, even Suzuki website doesnt list anything under the VIN No. So any "generic help" on here is 100% welcome

thanks mate

Hi Guys,

Sorry I am a couple of years late to this, but I’ve actually done this exact upgrade (fitting of rear and front speakers) on my Celerio SZ3. Please note that you do have to fit your own wiring, and though this may seem a daunting task at first for some, it really is not. Here is what I did:

1. Pop down to Halfords (or similar!) and buy some trim removal tools, some speaker wiring, and the speakers (Halfords always have a range of decent speaker options). Also before you start working on the Celerio, I recommend you disable the radio code steal feature - consult the manual!

2. You must start the process by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery…. Look at videos on how to do this.

3. Remove the trim (door panels, and door lining) using the removal tools you purchased, and remove the head unit.

4. If we look at the wire loom connecting to the head unit, we can see all different colours of wire. The colours of the wire are unimportant, rather the PIN numbers are more important. Look at a pin diagram of a headunit (I think these are standardised) on Google, and find the wires that connect to the rear speakers. Note that wires will already be coming out of these holes, you can snip them and then connect your wires that you bought (by connectors or we soldered them on).

5. Pull the wire through behind the head unit, and then into the little passage in the door and into the rubber seal to the door.

6. Connect the speakers up. Recommend you buy speakers that come with fitting accessories since the Celerio’s door is basically a thin sheet of metal.

7. Connect the negative terminal of the battery. If you did not disable the stolen feature on the Head unit, you will have to input a code into the head unit - for me it was the last 4 digits of my VIN, but you should look up videos on how to find it.

8. Test your speakers!

Hope this helps, although you may not be looking into doing this upgrade anymore, or may have already done it!
