A friend has purchased a nearly new car that comes with a standard no frills double din head unit

They’d like to fit a pumpkin android unit like I did in my car, luckily for me i didn’t need any fascia adapters, it my friend will

Here is a pic of the adapter they’d need, the pic on the right shows the standard radio

Is it just a case of bending the arms on the metal cage to fit those two legs on the plastic fascia

Or is it some sort of screw affair

Thanks

I am not sure I understand the question.

The new head unit goes in the hole in the middle of the black section. This hole has frames sticking out either side behind it.
The metal cage for the new head unit is intended to clip into these frames, the exact details of which will depend on the metal cage design.
My experience of this type of thing is that the cage may clip in easily or it may need a bit of bodgery to make it secure.

It looks like the back of the facia has mounting holes for screws, so you could not bother with the metal cage and just screw the new unit to the mounting holes (being careful with the length of the screws)

The metal cages are usually for installs where you want to be able to slide the unit out, so it is actually less secure than screwing it in.

Interesting

Will hope there is some standard for screw positions

I think this is a case of order it and see what unfolds!
