Route-planning, nav and cameras all on android phone?
Discussion
Hi all, I am probably hopelessly out of date and missing something obvious, but here's what I'd like to do:
1) Trace out a route of wiggly b-roads on google maps (or similar)
2) Transfer it to a navigation app on my phone
3) Follow that route and get fixed/mobile camera alerts.
I used to be able to do this by creating the route in TYRE, loading it to my ancient TomTom, and then having Waze running on my phone in parallel. however, TYRE is now completely different and I can't figure out how to use it the old-fashioned way, my TomTom keeps dropping location signal, and it seems daft to buy a new nav unit when phones can do almost anything these days.
Any suggestions for a simple solution?
Thanks!

You can customise the route on the web based Google Maps by dragging the sections of the one it has planned for you, then send to the Google Maps app on your phone which will have camera warning.
And then Google maps will reroute.I will have a look at maps.me tonight, can't do anything with it at work as it requires a download to begin.

So are you saying it will work, or it won't work Keirik? Sorry, you will have to spell this out for me!

Apparently Google Maps will decide you've not chosen the best route, and override the one you've sent it, choosing the quickest instead.I will have a look at maps.me tonight, can't do anything with it at work as it requires a download to begin.
