Using spare relay socket as switched power source - safe??
Discussion
I don’t have any switched live fuses in my cars fuse box but have found a switched live terminal in a spare relay socket, also in the fuse box.
I’d like to use this to power my dash cam and phone charger (with 12v to dual 5v USB transformer with a spare connector in relay socket).
To my mind this is exactly the same as piggybacking a switched live fuse.
Is there any reason I shouldn’t do this??

The only reason why you would not be able to do this is if the switched supply you have found is powered by cables or internal fusebox conductor strips that aren't heavy enough to carry the maximum current needed for whatever consumables you are powering
If in any doubt, you will need to power a relay from the switched supply you have found so that the relays contacts and heavy enough wiring carry the load and the switched supply clicks in the relay that draws very little current to operate it
Chances are that a good method would be to find power at the ignition switch
